Nous continuons nos cours du samedi au Rideau Community Hub sur le boulevard St. Laurent.

Drama Play – Ages 4-5

Saturdays 9:00 to 9:45 am

Come play with us! Our littlest students will have fun being creative, playing games, taking turns, and sharing ideas in this class that introduces them to acting and storytelling. Each Drama Play session is 8 weeks long and ends with a chance to shine in a studio presentation for family and friends.

Drama Play sessions run October 18 to December 6, January 10 to March 7, and March 28 to June 6.

Story Drama – Age 7-8

Saturdays 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Our Story Drama class teaches acting and performance skills and teamwork, while deepening students’ understanding of stories and plot. Through improvisation, games, and speech and movement work, students will work together as an ensemble from September to June to create and stage a play for the Student Showcase in May at the Rideau Hub.

Young Musical – Ages 6-8

Saturdays 11:15 am to 12:15 am

Young Musical is designed for children discovering musical theatre for the first time, this class focuses on acting skills, group singing, and basic dance and movement. Enthusiasm, commitment, and team spirit are necessary to participate in this class. Students will work towards a short play presented to parents at the end of May.

Intermediate Musical – Age 11-12

Saturdays 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm

Designed for older children, Intermediate Musical deepens students’ understanding of musical theatre, touching on the history of the art form. Students will explore acting through speech and movement, basic musical theatre dance technique, and individual and group singing. Dance choreography will be taught to the full class, and 1 vocal coaching session will be provided to each student. Previous experience is not necessary, but enthusiasm, commitment and team spirit are essential! Students will work together from September to June, leading to a musical presentation in the OST Student Showcase in May at the Rideau Hub.

Primary Musical – Ages 9-10

Saturdays 2:15 to 3:30 pm

Explore the world of musical theatre as you learn singing, dancing, and acting skills! Students will work on group singing as well as duets and solos; work together on choreographed dance; and explore character building. Enthusiasm, commitment, and team spirit are necessary to participate in this class. Students will work together from September to June, leading to a musical presentation in the OST Student Showcase in May.

Acting on Camera – Ages 13-17

Saturdays 3:34 to 5:15 pm
Sept 13-Oct 25

Lights, camera, action! Discover acting technique for the camera, including ways to explore character and text to tell a story on film. Students will work on monologues and scenes individually and in small groups, and explore audition techniques, demo reels, and basic video editing.
