Les élèves de douze ans et plus s’initieront à la scène et découvriront le théâtre par le biais de pièces créatives, de jeux de rôle, de mimes et de narrations. Les élèves présenteront un spectacle portes ouvertes en décembre et en mars, et partageront leur talent par le biais d’une tournée pour un maximum de 4 représentations.  Les élèves pourront explorer différents aspects d’une tournée théâtrale : comment monter et défaire un décor, comment prendre en charge les accessoires et costumes et comment s’adapter aux différents espaces de représentation.  Il est possible que l’étudiant devra manquer 2 – 3 jours d’école. Les places sont limitées.

Une des seules classes de l’ETO qui est totalement orientée vers le divertissement. Nous nous concentrons sur le PLAISIR!! Joignez-vous à un groupe qui partage votre passion et élargissez vos connaissances du théâtre en explorant tous les volets du monde théâtral: la création d’un personnage, le travail de scène, la voix et le mouvement.  Plonger dans les arts de la scène pour un répit de la réalité et présente une excellente opportunité de gagner en confiance et estime de soi.   Les élèves présenteront une pièce de théâtre au printemps.

Spring Play A Midsummer Night’s Dream 

Four Athenians run away to the forest only to have Puck the fairy make both of the boys fall in love with the same girl. The four run through the forest pursuing each other while Puck helps his master play a trick on the fairy queen. In the end, Puck reverses the magic, and the two couples reconcile and marry.

Together, the class will have FUN with the works of William Shakespeare. Ages 13+: TOUR to Young Audiences 

What is acting all about? Sharing! This class builds a show then shares it with audiences of all ages.  Learn about the aspects of touring: putting up/striking sets, caring for props and costumes, dealing with challenges of varying performance spaces. This exploration of theatre and acting will produce from one to four TOUR performances as well as a performance in the OST Student Showcase and may require students to miss 2-3 days of school. Class size is limited. Parent volunteers are very much appreciated!

Ages 13+: Teen Creators – Collaborate on Creation, Directing and Design

Students will collectively create their own show and learn about scripts, casting, rehearsing, design, stage management, promoting your show and design. This class will involve acting for a performance in the OST Student Showcase and possible other venues. Class size is limited.

Ages 13+: Teen Advanced Musical – AUDITION ENTRY

Advanced Triple Threat: singing, dancing and acting. Students will work together with an Ottawa Triple Threat professional. Previous experience is an asset; enthusiasm, commitment and team spirit are necessary to participate in this class. The ability to play an instrument is an EXTRA bonus! Students will get to work with guest experts on voice and movement.  The audience will enjoy their stage production in the OST Student Works Showcase. Class size is limited.
AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD ON | September 15th, 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
The audition requires a 1 min. monologue & 1 acapella song.

Singing, dancing and acting; Triple Threat students will work together from September to June. Students will work on voice and movement with expert instruction.  Previous musical experience is an asset but enthusiasm, commitment and team spirit are the only prerequisites for this 90 minute class.

Shakespeare makes for exciting and dynamic theatre. Be ready for your High School Shakespeare study. With an emphasis on play, physicality, character and emotion, be prepared to shake up your Shakespeare!  GHOSTS! Meet Shakespeare’s ghosts and magical characters! Funny! Shakespeare has many COMEDIC scenes of mistaken identity and hilarious adventures! Battles and Death scenes are an actor’s dream! Students learn how to fight and die on stage!  Ages 15+:OST’s Teen Acting Company – Blossom Productions – AUDITION ENTRY

This program operates as an audition-entry company for students 15+. It is composed of a professional director and a group of dedicated students who collectively run the company and are involved in every aspect, including design, stage management, direction, Front of House, building, acting, promotion and financial reporting. There will be one production on stage in the Richcraft Theatre. Rehearsal times depend on the company, but will include both week night and weekend times.
AUDITION DATE: September 18th, 7:00 pm or September 21st, 4:00 pm (You only need to attend one of these auditions, which we expect to last no longer than 1 hour)
Please prepare a 1 min. monologue of your choice.
Please be also prepared to participate in a group audition.
All that is required are comfortable clothes, water and a sense of fun.
All levels of experience are welcome.

Live action mixed with recorded works. – Sound, light and props – an introduction to multimedia scenography and design with a recorded and live performance. Students will learn about interactivity Image and video projection, Sound effects and audio production, The Internet as a Stage, Animation, Designing your multimedia project (groups), Production and rehearsals and Performances!   The audience will enjoy their production in the Student Showcase and throughout the year on the OST website. Acting for the Mature Theatre Lover

This course in Acting is for students who would like to learn about acting in a fun environment.  Learn how to lift a script off the page and bringing it to life on the stage! You will overcome your inhibitions of performing in front of others, learn the basics of becoming a character in a play, hone the acting chops which you may have already developed years ago, and rehearse scenes for performance in one of our black box studios in front of a gentle audience.
